Humayun’s Tomb :Popular with tourists. Tourists will be pouring into Delhi for the Commonwealth Games. They will also do the ‘touristy’ thing and visit the popular monuments of the city. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has plans to set up food kiosks at — Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, Purana Qila and Jantar Mantar. However, there seems to be a slip between the cup and the lip and as of now nothing seems to be happening. Visitors are not allowed to carry eatables inside these protected sites, so where are these people going to eat? UNESCO guidelines for World Heritage Sites say that restaurants must be located within reasonable distance from the monuments, but in Delhi there is nothing — not even vending machines.
